Tin Glavan (b. 2001, Croatia) is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist based in the Netherlands. He has been drawing since childhood and continues to approach art with the same sense of curiosity and joy he felt at four years old. Working across painting, drawing, and writing, he sees art as a spiritual connection with the universe, a way of receiving inspiration and expressing it in forms that can quietly shape the world beyond his control.
For Glavan, art does not end with the canvas. He sees the way he dresses, moves through the world, and lives his life as extensions of the same creative practice. He strives to live honestly so that he can create honestly. Every body of work functions as a diary. Art is the one place where he is completely naked, yet hidden. He communicates through symbolic imagery and visual metaphors.
Influenced by literature such as H.C. Andersen, Franz Kafka, Dante Alighieri, and the Bible, his work explores identity, memory, spirituality, and the search for meaning. While deeply personal, his paintings are intentionally open-ended, inviting viewers to discover their own stories within them.
Tin’s work is organized into evolving collections, including Raw 2022 and the upcoming Trip Within (2026), each marking a distinct chapter in his artistic and personal journey. Together, these bodies of work form an ongoing visual diary through which the growth of the artist can be observed. Alongside his visual art, he writes poetry and prose that extend the paintings, offering viewers insight into the artist’s state of mind during the period in which each body of work was created.
