Hi,
I'm Elena Fattakhova. I'm an architect and a young artist.
I was born in Ufa, in the Southern Ural Mountains, where there are a lot of ethnicities, to one of which I also belong. I identify myself as a tatar.
As a child I lived with my parents in a Russian village, where I saw how indigent and criminal people could be. At the same time I perceived a lot of beauty and harmony from the native nature, because my Father was a forester and my Mother was a beekeeper, and I had daily contact with forest, animals and bees.
In the village there was no school, and when we moved to the big city Ufa, we lost our lovely tiny house and the farm. My childhood in the city was stressful and poor as any childhood in the 90s in Russia. But there I studied at an art school and received my first degree as a civil engineer.
With the support from my family and my own hard work I moved to Germany to study architecture at the Bauhaus University. After studying there I was happy to try to create some great architecture in my native city.
I fled from Russia in 2016 because of the political regime. Also, I lost my hope of conducting any good work in Russia as an architect because of the corruption in the industry.
I also work as an architect in Germany, and I love my job. I love creating spaces for people.
Unfortunately, architecture today is mostly about money, not about personalization and humanity. That's why I got burnout from my work. I am turning my view to art, as I love to work with human emotions and show my feelings about them.
