A Universe Between Shadow and LightFrom childhood, my siblings and I were introduced to art by our parents through numerous museum visits. However, rather than receiving guided explanations, we were given a single instruction: to feel and analyze the emotions that the artworks evoked in us. What could have been a limitation instead became an open door to sensitivity and imagination.
While we all pursued careers in the communication industry, our artistic expressions took very different paths: one found passion in theater and stage production in Paris, another in the delicacy of collage and watercolor. As for me, drawing was always a constant, but my creativity was first and foremost expressed through cooking. I loved playing with textures, colors, and sensations, blending molecular influences with reimagined French culinary traditions through a sensory and intuitive approach. What drove me above all was the act of creation, of inventing, without ever repeating the same recipe twice.
However, it was an exhibition that marked a decisive turning point in my artistic journey. "Small is Beautiful" was a revelation—an emotional shock that resurfaced buried memories, fragments of childhood, and obsessive dreams. The minuscule handwriting to grasp a subject as a whole, the fascination with tiny objects, the visions in macro or distant perspective, nightmares tinged with red, blue, and black… All these elements made me realize the true essence of my artistic practice.
From that moment, my work became centered around materials, the interplay of shadow and light, a dual reading of subjects, and a perspective where the intimate converses with the universal. Several series emerged:
Absolute black, a cathartic release where my deepest thoughts take form.
White, soothing and pure, in search of serenity.
Blue, vibrant and luminous, evoking joy and escape.
Today, my technique merges these three dimensions, blending materials and contrasts: polystyrene, paper, plaster, sand, salt, bubbles… A unique artistic language where light is born from shadow, and each piece invites a sensory and emotional exploration.
