Toronto-based artist, Gina D’Aloisio (BFA) utilizes interdisciplinary sculpture and installation, her primary material focuses are hyperreal mould making and found objects. The replication of flesh and the body using silicone, in combination with found objects explore our human relationship with the material world.
D’Aloisio is the recipient of the Career Catalyst: Project Grants for New Generation Artists from the Ontario Arts Council, and has participated in numerous artist residencies notably the La Napoule Artist Foundation Residency in France.
In 2021 D’Aloisio’s work was featured in a New York Times article, The Boom and Bust of TikTok Artists. She has also presented solo exhibitions at Beaver Hall Gallery and Muse Gallery in Toronto.
D’Aloisio is currently working on a group show presented by Remote Gallery in November 2022 and a solo show for The Next Contemporary (dates to be confirmed) in Toronto.
