U.Soo Choi (Choi Youjin) is a Korean contemporary artist based in Singapore. Her current practice, the Satellite Sanctuary series, translates satellite imagery of her home into ink and hanji (Korean traditional paper) paintings set within custom aluminum frame structures, treating the aerial view as a transcendent gaze rather than surveillance. Central to her work is the idea of active surrender — yielding to a given structure not as defeat, but as a means of ascent.
Choi studied at Kaywon School of Art and holds a BA and MA from Hongik University. She has worked as Assistant Curator at Gallery Baton and as a Lecturer in the Department of Design at Hanyang Women's University. Her work has been shown in Kitsch on the Tap and SEOULCON (Seoul, 2023), YEA FESTA and Practicing Art at Gallery The Arte (Seoul, 2024), and presented at Art & Bali (Indonesia) and Bank Art Fair Singapore (2025).
