Born in 1955 in Stade, Germany, Beate Bodmann lives and works in Buxtehude, Germany.
Since 2014, her artistic practice has been devoted almost exclusively to the universe and its planetary structures. Working across different media—including acrylic, egg tempera, watercolor, pastel, graphite and colored pencil—she creates abstract works on canvas, paper, wood and alu dibond. Inspired by astronomy, planetary surfaces and the vastness of the cosmos, her paintings develop intuitively through the creative process, where structures and forms gradually evolve into imagined cosmic landscapes.
From 2016 to 2018, she studied Creative Painting at the Fernakademie für Erwachsenenbildung in Hamburg, expanding her knowledge of artistic techniques and materials.
Her work has been presented in the group exhibition Hamburg zeigt Kunst (2022) and in a group exhibition in Cuxhaven (2024). Several of her works are held in private collections.
