I’m an abstract expressionist painter with a background in textile design. Colour is my main focus, I believe it has a big influence on a psychophysical state of a person. I love to experiment with bold, saturated combinations of colour using various textures and layers. I create vibrant, dynamic works on canvas and paper with acrylics and sometimes oil pastels, as an additional material.
I was born and raised in Moscow during the last years of Soviet regime. I expressed interest in drawing and painting very early, made my first oil painting at the age of 6.
I was accepted to study Costume Design with a government funding at Moscow University of Design and Technology. Painting was one of the main academic courses that have lasted for five years. That was where I discovered my passion for it and my love for the colour itself.
At the age of 23 I received a scholarship and moved to Milan for studying master’s in Textile Design at NABA and to pursue a carrier in fashion.
I worked as a designer, stylist and visual expert for more than ten years, using painting as a hobby in the beginning and then living it behind for five years. While working in fashion I always felt like something was missing. I’ve realised that there was something else I was supposed to be doing...
At the age of 31 while living and working in South France, I began to search for my true path. I’ve started to practice yoga and discovered art-therapy, through which I found my way back to painting.
I now live between Milan and Moscow, painting almost every day, studying clinical art-therapy and knowing that ART is my purpose.
