I am a Spanish-French art student at Charterhouse school in England. I grew up fluent in four languages whilst having lived in Spain, Singapore, Scotland and England. I am passionate for all the arts as I am a music, drama and art student. I spend my days in the school art block producing pieces for personal and academic interest. Every time I enter the art department I am filled with enthusiasm, adrenaline, ambition and I rocket off into producing something. I must confess it is hard to leave, I find myself craving my next project. My love for art began as a child, as my mother embodied my brother and I in creative activities such as pottery, painting and arts & crafts. Another art I enjoy is filmmaking. I believe it allows me to express complex expressions through storytelling, cinematography, acting, sound, and light. In 2019, amongst some school peers, we won the film prize for the best 9-12 age group at the AAYFF with our film called ‘HELP!’ To extend my interest, I participated at UCL’s INVEST-IN Young Filmmaker Summer Experience, producing a short-film, ‘Pressure Point’. Moreover, I just completed my GCSEs receiving an A** (9) in Fine Art and won the school art prize. I will begin my first year of IB, taking Art at Higher Level. I know that art is what makes me happy which motivates me to pursue my passion for university as well as a future career. This year, I have explored the theme of ‘fragments’ using printmaking techniques such as screen printing. My artworks can be described as vibrantly hued layered compositions, classified as contemporary and pop art. Visiting the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona fueled a creative flow in me. The stained glass on the Nativity and Passion façade inspired my creation. I used portraits of my family and friends to compose the tapestry of ‘Las Luces De Mi Vida’. When observing it, I sense human experience intertwining with energy, togetherness, and dynamism, creating a harmonious space. Following this, I aim to master screen printing and dive into sculpture, photography and film. What’s most significant to me is the opportunity to be creative and think out of the box, gifting me the freedom to find and express myself.
