Iacopo was born in Rome in 2003. Since childhood he has been developing his passion for drawing and the figure. He takes inspiration by renaissance masters and also by modern artists such as Lucian Freud and Bacon, admiring their use of color and pictorial matter. Artistic studies weren’t useful for technical training, prompting him to be self-taught.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he participated in an international competition between art high schools in Rome and Moscow, winning first prize and having the opportunity to exhibit in Russia.
In 2022 he completed his art studies in Rome.
Toward the end of the year, he began to work as an assistant and laborer for the studio of the Roman Artist Paolo W. Tamburella.
In May 2022 he participated in the first edition of "Art is Young," an art association founded by and for young artists, in Milan with the support of the municipality. In the end of ’22 he participates in two art residencies in Benin, staying in the country for three months, hosted by the "Borna Soglo Gallery."
In Benin he had the opportunity to dig into the various aspects of the daily nature and culture of west Africa and in particular of the Vodu religion. He holded an exhibition at the gallery, presenting a vision inspired by the concepts of ritual and chaos, drawing on from inspirations found in Africa. Back to Rome, after assisting Tamburella to the creation of an installation at Palazzo Chigi in Siena, one of the palaces most important in the city, he began working independently in his new studio in Rome, in preparation of upcoming exhibitions.
