I realized this work in Africa in two weeks changing different places. To finish it in time for the exhibition in Cotonou I slept on a towel on the floor few hours at night, using gasoline as a thinner since no others materials were avaliable. I took inspiration from another canvas representing bodies I’ve made in 2021, from photos I had, new photos and videos taken in benin and the presence of the kids of the orphanage next to the artistic recidency were I was painting, who helped me having a good time all togheter. The canvas wants to represent humanity and the common “Chaos” the humans have inside, that force that connects humans/bodies in bad and good, in love and violence, but, in both cases, remaining just a connected human mass. This work is the beginning of a research I’ve just started developing. It was purchased in 2024 by the curator of Benin Pavillon in the 60th Venice Biennal Azu Nwagbogu.
