"I am Maryam Amirfarshinejad, born in Tehran, Iran. I completed my bachelor's degree in Visual Arts with a focus on Graphic Design at the University of Science and Culture in Iran. Later, I pursued my master's degree in Visual Arts at the University of Bologna in Italy. My master's thesis delved into the works of Iranian female artists post-revolution with a focus on feminism.
I consider myself a multidisciplinary artist, including roles as a painter, art critic, poet, and dancer. My work primarily revolves around contemporary art with a strong emphasis on addressing social issues such as identity, environmental crises, migration, and philosophical concepts. Life's circumstances have led me to experience various roles, including being a business owner for 12 years in the field of advertising in Iran and establishing a cultural association in Italy called 'One Thousand and One Nights,' organizing exhibitions and workshops for artists.
Currently, I reside in Rovigo, Italy, where I continue to engage in painting, art education, and collaborating with different cultural associations. I firmly believe that life is a shared experience filled with pain, and I find solace in sharing it through art, making it more bearable."
