Giuseppe Accardo (b. 1961, Torre del Greco, Italy) is a self-taught figurative painter based in Munich, Germany. After studying architecture at the University Federico II in Naples, he spent over a decade as a designer at the Grande architecture firm. In 1985 he collaborated with Prof. Arch. Alberto Cuomo on the artistic presentation for the "Romeo e Giulietta" project at the Venice Biennale.
His current body of work, Silent Icons — Contemporary Iconographic Painting, reinterprets the visual grammar of Western sacred iconography through contemporary cultural figures from fashion, cinema, and opera — and through personal figures transformed into mythological archetypes. The series is executed in large-format oil and silver leaf on canvas.
Selected exhibitions include a solo show at the Goethe-Institut Munich (1998) and works sold at auction in 2025.
