ITALIANO
Poetic Justice è un progetto che interpreta il principio del contrappasso dantesco in chiave contemporanea. I peccatori del nostro tempo, o le loro anime, si trovano di fronte alla rivelazione delle colpe commesse e sono costretti all’espiazione eterna. L’Inferno che l’autore ha immaginato per questi dannati, solo in apparenza è meno cruento rispetto a quello che Dante riservò ai suoi contemporanei. Perché la punizione per loro è peculiare e intende colpirli con cinismo e ironia, al pari di una punizione divina.
Il progetto è composto da una serie di soggetti, immagini in bianco e nero generate tramite intelligenza artificiale. Ogni immagine ritrae un dannato e la sua punizione.
A ogni fotografia è abbinata un’etichetta descrittiva con il titolo dell’opera e lo stralcio di un canto infernale scritto dall’autore.
Perché il contrappasso abbia un riflesso concreto, ogni soggetto è legato a una donazione. Tutti i proventi destinati all’autore derivati dalla vendita del lavoro (o delle sue copie), saranno devoluti a favore di una specifica causa inerente al soggetto.

ch’un dì regnò con boria, sprezzo e bava.

tra rutti, fumo e puzza di frittura.
Col ciuffo biondo floscio e decadente
tra fuochi e fiamme ‘ei l’orgoglio spurga
che il suo trionfo è quello del perdente.
Lavoro greve fiacca le sue terga
la notte eterna affonda in sua sembianza

Poetic Justice is a project that interprets the principle of Dante's contrappasso through a contemporary lens. The sinners of our time - or their souls -are confronted with the revelation of their misdeeds and are condemned to eternal atonement. The Hell envisioned by the author for these damned souls appears, at first glance, to be less brutal than the one Dante reserved for his contemporaries. Yet their punishment is uniquely tailored, meant to strike with cynicism or irony, akin to a divine retribution.
The project consists of a series of black-and-white images generated through artificial intelligence. Each image portrays a damned soul and its punishment.
Every photograph is accompanied by a descriptive label featuring the title of the work and an excerpt from an infernal canto written by the author.
So that the concept of contrappasso may have a tangible reflection, each subject is tied to a donation. All proceeds due to the author from the sale of the work itself (or its copies) will be donated to support a specific cause related to the subject.

In the dark circle, where smoke weighs heavy,
stood a spirit with a hardened shell,
who once did reign with pride, disdain, and drool.
Now, a damned fryer in a shadowed canteen,
he flips meat upon a burning grill,
amid belches, smoke, and the stench of frying.
With limp and fading blond tuft,
among fire and flames he purges the pride
that made his triumph that of the defeated.
Harsh labor wears down his backside,
the eternal night sinks into his features,
for his arrogance no longer dwells within.
