Butterflies - 2022
The mapping of butterflies in the Atlantic Forest identifies priority areas for conservation. The areas are identified not without many zigzags of their wings and testify to the uncertainty of a search. Confusion, the inextricable, the circulation of light and life throughout an entire field, uncertainty, indistinctness, that is, wealth, are peculiar to the forest. The computer artwork simulates the behavior of butterflies, which randomly appear as trees grow, every time the image interactively appears. The work lives in a digital space and was created p5.js which is a JavaScript library for creative coding. The aim is to make coding of computational works accessible and inclusive for artists and designers.
