Social media and technology are not inherently harmful, as long as they are used in moderation. The presence of business interests behind these platforms, which seek to promote excessive consumption, causes users to invest their time and share information for the benefit of these companies.
In addition, excessive use of social media can have a negative impact on mental health, especially in young people aged 16-26. There is also a negative effect on the employment and creative sphere, where the digital economy has led to unstable and precarious forms of work, particularly for creative professionals. It is extremely important for users to be aware of these harms, to be able to develop healthy digital habits and to demand that companies improve their policies to achieve a more beneficial use of these technologies.
To this end, glitch is used as an artistic element. In this installation, classical music and abstract processing videos will be used, arranged on a tactile LED screen which, each time it is touched, will create a glitch both on the screen and in the music.
