The video work "Future Archaeology" aims to discuss a casual archaeological activity in the context of the fictional "Marine Era," a concept derived from the geological sense of the "Anthropocene." This assumes a scenario in which human beings lose their terrestrial habitat and live in the ocean due to the rising sea level due to global warming. The images were shot at Dongxia Beach in Wenling, Zhejiang Province, China, and combined with 3D printed models created by the artist, the work takes on a pseudo-documentary style. "Future Archaeology" tells the story of mankind after the Marine Era, who stumbled upon artifacts combining human beings and sea creatures on the beach, aiming to discuss the climate crisis and global warming and to glimpse the invisible "near-future" in the name of "archaeology."
