Four Chambers is a video project about the human heart in four parts; Light, Dark, Blue and Red. It took its shape through the worlds created by the interacting of natural inks ( made from various organic, botanical materials) , plants, minerals and human hand. This interaction was captured on film and set to an original soundscape that is intimate and specific but demonstrates the expanses that the topic of the videos covers. Collectively, the four piece, each 1.3 minutes in length, are about the many forms and roles the heart takes, but also about the realms it dwells in, the worlds both internal and external to ourselves that it beats within. We find echoes of the heart in the ground, in the flowers and plants and green worlds beneath our feet, but also in the night sky; in the light of the stars and the pull of the moon, and in the awe and beauty that faraway worlds inspire in us. The heart allows us to inhale the potent reaction heavenly bodies cause, which often makes them feel closer than they are, and which allows us to acknowledge their existence in such a way as if it were also a part of us.
