Here is the destruction of a sculpture. A human skeleton scale 1 that I sculpted in Vegetal (vegetable fat) disappears in its sponge base, melted by the light that illuminates it. The sound that accompanies it is a composition that I made from the sound of the excavator in the film Fellini-Roma, reinterpreted and harmonized; when the discovery of the frescoes (buried behind a wall) makes them disappear (the oxygen trapped between these walls being its only condition of conservation). Contemporary vanity sculpted, bone after bone, in profane fat (a way of recycling the over-consumption of fat in Western societies), its rendering is nevertheless elegant and reminds us of wax, an organic material impregnated with the sacred. The purpose of casting this skeleton is to re-inscribe the human being in the scale of his temporality, not increased, recalling its fragility, humble and ephemeral character of each one. I also chose this material in reference to mythology: Prometheus deceives Zeus by hiding the bones under an appetizing fat. Like a divine punishment inflicted on men greedy for good pieces, I choose to show a skeleton in which the fat has replaced it to the point of being the substance.
