The Awakening project was born during the conception period of the Renascence exhibition.
Inspired by the anguish of the molt, I translated into an artistic sign the difficulties of the existence of the human being where by necessity it must change, improve and elevate himself to reach self-awareness. The people involved present wounds, not only physical but also of the soul and psyche, and I worked on them with the aim of telling their "pre-mutation", between resignation and acceptance, up to accompanying them to get rid of their "Chitinous armor" and thus come to the awareness of the true meaning and value of their scars. The skin placed under a reliquary, like a relic, reminds the portrait subject of the self of yesterday and of anticipating the self of tomorrow after the transformation in the hope of finding himself. The body reveals itself, changes the skin, and changes into the SELF which now, finally aware, proudly shows the scars and the ancient pains revealing their true value. To mark, that everything that happens belongs to a higher cosmic order. To remember that of everything that happens it is up to us to understand the reason… for our Awakening.
