A short film featuring the migrant experiences of six women in their relocation to Aotearoa New Zealand. The metaphorical Kauri Table is referenced as participant artists having reached a sense of home and belonging; as distilled in each narrative of 'individual arrival.' The table canvas invites you to connect with each woman through new and past migrant reflections. Acting as a shared interactive setting, allowing the audience to travel through their audio narratives. The collective is known as wia2020 women immigrant artists.
The sequentially lit placements focus on visual narratives as each woman moves towards situating herself into kinship or community, (Maori call this whanaungatanga in Aotearoa New Zealand). for further details please see www.wia2020.org
