I filmed these moments of life during the months I lived in Venice.
The days passed and I felt my being becoming part of the soul of the city, its canals, its streets. The rhythm of the water was present everywhere.
The lights, the sounds, made my existence within that world as illusory.
In November, a night like any other, the rhythm of the water, perennial, constant now part of my life, began to rise, submerged the streets, entered the houses, destroyed the reality of the day and in the morning there were only souls, shadows, wounds.
In surprising us without certainty, I could not do anything but disappear, walking in the streets now re-emerged, tomorrow perhaps lost, I was only movement in the impermanent.
Awakened fragile we were lights suspended in the unreal, everything had escaped the firmness of the banks: algae, salt, wind.
I thought back to those days: the sound, the music that seemed to come from the very foundations. I tried to remember a dream that escaped from the nights where the tides were our skin, where I walked aimlessly among the decomposing stones, perhaps because of the memory secretly landed by the winds of a man sitting on the bench in the morning, at the end Venice, the voice of the lagoon that whispered to me to remember the fleeting, solitary moments of morning light.
And in that memory I have sunk, in the space of a naked time, abandoned to the incessant breaking.
