When the Sun Made Love to the Dark Night, 2019

The work evinces influences from Akshita Gandhi’s childhood, adolescence, and emancipation in Mumbai. When the Sun Made Love to the Dark Night is built using construction site waste. Gandhi pursued her career as an artist fully after her divorce, her emancipation, thus engaging with sustainability and fantasy the sculpture was a way for her to explore breaking free and building a new life, putting pieces back together.
