Writings on water
Or: on the edge of visible talk
We are History, our personal history, the history of
the period in which we are living. Human beings need to stop so as to mark and
leave traces of one’s own passage, to collect and preserve. Writing becomes a
way to interpret contemporary reality in its anxiety and contradictions,
creating a bond with the present together with the past and the future.
In the mirror-like water of a well, images arise and
memories are recalled. Sound pervades the place completely. As in an oneiric [dream] vision, shadows and
writings emerge from the bottom of the well, words written in different
languages, visible palimpsests surviving sequential erasures, inviting us to
reflect on the mystery and depth of our relationship with life and with the “other,”
our neighbor. The images of two singing
and laughing children appear on the surface. They are observing us, as they
play “show and tell” with us. The image is overturned; is it we who at the
bottom of the well? Are we remembering, or rather are we the remembered?
Scritture sull’acqua
Ovvero sull’orlo del
visibile parlare
pozzo emergono immagini e vengono evocati ricordi. Il suono avvolge interamente
nell’ambiente.
bambini, cantano, ridono. Ci guardano, ci indicano. L’immagine è ribaltata,
siamo noi in fondo al pozzo? Ricordiamo o siamo ricordati?
