Large nude torso sculpture made in Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe, Africa. The front is a traditional realistic torso, but the back has an abstract african style hieroglyphic of the torso representing the shadow. The shadow is connected at the shoulders rather than the feet. It is symbolic of the overshadowed african diaspora that need empowerment. This change can come through art; the wisdom and skill the shona sculptors have shown me are of great importance for the continuation of the medium of stone art. It's made entirely with hand tools in opal stone.
