Due to the 1st Possehl Award for Lübeck based artists which I received in 2019, I had the chance to create an installation at the Gollan Cultural Shipyard in Lübeck, in a former factory building. This was the first large scale installation which I realised with the papers paint with machine oil. I rent a garage to prepare them over a long period of time (4 months).
My intention was to use the large space as a kind of Passepartout in which the papers unfold their volume and surface. The visitors could move between the paper and they smelled still a bit of machine oil which is used for mobility of cars. It's a recycling material and it transforms the paper to something else: They seem like fabric, steel, move gently and are partly translucent.
