SCENE

This is an ensemble of sculptures carved from wood. Each sculpture is made from the wood of a specific tree. Woods used are Sycamore, Pine, Birch, Cherry, apple, Holly and walnut. The organic sculptures stand on a 245cm diameter circle painted in Black 2.0.  SCENE evokes feelings of explosive generation, and of some kind of sacrificial violence. The encounter with SCENE aims to evoke feelings of the persistence of life, and the fragility of life poised over the void.
