This photographic installation is based on a model created from clay. The layering of photographs from different angles of the sculpture imparts a sense of movement to the sculpted piece, as if various patterns are intertwining amongst themselves. The interplay of motifs and material aspects – lace, knitting, or intestines – aims for an organic, supple, and malleable sculpted motif, despite the inherent rigidity of the sculpture itself.
This ambiguity regarding the material's origin and the juxtaposition of photographs keep the viewer suspended between curiosity and discomfort. The pursuit of movement within the constraints of clay, which is typically rigid and fragile, reveals a play of appearances and infinite metaphorical possibilities.
