Carrara, Italy
Nuvoletta is a marble sculpture completed in Carrara, Italy, in 2026. Inspired by the Via Francigena, the work explores an inner architectural space structured around an ascending staircase. Through this spatial form, the sculpture reflects on the thoughts, emotions, and bodily experiences of a female sculptor during the process of making.
While the interior suggests a journey of ascent, introspection, and transformation, the exterior draws on the material qualities of white Carrara marble to evoke the lightness and softness of a cloud. The contrast between the architectural inner structure and the seemingly weightless outer form creates a dialogue between heaviness and lightness, material resistance and emotional expression.
