Namas pamus"
Steel, shopping cart.
90 x 50 x 290 cm
This artwork is currently being exhibited in the outdoor exhibition "Passages insolites" curated by EXMURO in Quebec City (CA).
The sculpture showcases a menhir (standing stone) in a shopping cart. The monolith is roughly carved and refers to the mysterious thousand years old stones whose existential questioning and origins still remain mysterious. Next to it, the shopping cart is contrasting by its modernity and vacuity (both physical and philosophical). The contrast between the two items composing the sculpture question the notions of progress from the neolithic age to our current consumerist society.
