A sacred triptych in which the state at the top produces the rule and the parents administer it, shaping what will become the social individual.
The work takes childhood enuresis as its starting point, a moment in which the involuntary body conflicts with the norm.
The stain on the mattress is the fossil trace of an act without will, but sufficient for the body to be corrected and disciplined, training it in fear and shame:where power finds its most stable home.
Technical detail of the opera:
The structure features an internal wooden framework like in the rendering in the third photo; it is completely self-supporting and stable against tipping. On-site, additional marble ballast weights—weighing 100 kg each—will be placed inside for each mattress unit. The mattress was entirely hand-stitched.
The urine is organic and treated with antibacterial and anti-mold agents, as well as alcohol.
