This collage entitled "Nature must be felt" consists of 16 diptychs (single image 34x34cm shadow gap). They are pairs that illustrate how similar the structures in nature are - people as a part of it. For example, the fingerprint resembles tree rings.
I conceived the works for an exhibition (funded scholarship) that artistically interprets the theme of man's preservation of nature.
The quotation from Alexander Humboldt was the philosophical background for the search for motifs.
The works are mostly photoencaustic, i.e. photo transfers on a whitened wooden body, coated with several layers of wax in order to then trace the structures through relief carvings in the wax.
