The mirror works function as portals, instruments for transition and healing. As a child, I'd spend hours staring at my reflection,
trying to make sense of my bodily form. After a certain length of time staring, my consciousness shifted and my features faded;
something deeper was there staring back at me, a calm presence. I returned to my mirror whenever the world became too
overwhelming or discouraging, It was a form of therapy built of necessity, an ego death. Two decades later, mirrors returned
within the walls of my studio, encased in my sculptures.
