52 little stoneware boats, three sizes approx 3,5,7 cm; looking like paperboats, but not so perfect and nice, not so precise and defined, not so balanced as the paper ones. They are heavier, bruised, a little blurry. They represent us in 2020, my feelings actually: loneliness, distance, and trying to be closer at the same time (they are near one another but not really toghether, they do not touch each other); fragility, someone who reaches new opportunities (the bronze/golden ones), someone really crushed, broken, someone else stronger...all trying to float, in a faded color.
Main idea is to reuse scraps from my laboratory: when you create stoneware objects or sculptures you slice, cut, throw away little amount of material wich in short time became a lot. In a small lab without machinery usually it goes to inert waste. I started to collect leftovers and clippings , no matter if different kind of stoneware, I wanted to reuse them. I also used paper flyer from supermarket to make the boats in different size. They all went into kiln only in left little spaces, to fill and optimize the firings. Starting fom our own little job, space, scraps; using transforming and reuse way of thinking and ideas.
