Abstract
The FIELD RECONSTRUCTION REPORT functions as the bureaucratic and forensic backbone of the entire series THE EPISTEMIC GRIP. Conceived as an official-looking investigative file, this work documents the dissecting and reconstructive approach to the physical artifacts of the cycle. The report aggregates forensic photography (including the tissue extraction from MORTIFIED MATTER), radiographic measurement data, and biomechanical stress analyses within a strict, administrative aesthetic. It documents the precise moment in which artistic creation is converted into a clinical collection of evidence.
Deep Dive: Conceptual Insight
While the sculptures and X-ray images of the series isolate the physical moment of form-lock and grip, the FIELD RECONSTRUCTION REPORT establishes the meta-level of bureaucratic control. The file is not a mere supporting document, but an independent, narrative artifact. It poses the question: Who is investigating whom—and on whose authority?
The Epistemic Loop: Through this meticulous record-keeping, creation (the sculpture) is directly short-circuited with dissection (the autopsy) and archiving (the report).
The report exposes the human pursuit of knowledge as an act of cold quantification. It forces the viewer into the role of the pathologist or investigator, attempting to reconstruct the fragmented traces of a body that has long since dissolved into the code of its own tools.
