Lluís
Vidaña, born in Palma de Mallorca in 1992, is a visual artist and high
school Drawing teacher. Since the age of six, his passion for art led
him to study at an academy for over 15 years, culminating in 2014 with a
degree in Graphic Design from the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny de
les Illes Balears. In addition to his teaching work, he has
participated in numerous competitions and exhibitions, winning awards
such as the Balearic Islands Youth Art Contest in 2019 and the Rosa d’Or
de la Pau prize in 2021.
His work, sensitive to his environment and social themes, denounces
aspects such as capitalism, gender, climate change, and the relationship
with technology, using painting and installations. He has exhibited in
various countries, including France, Spain, Mexico, and Brazil, and has
been an assistant at the Venice Biennale, Kassel Documenta, Art Basel,
and Arco Madrid, enriching his artistic training.
A passionate traveler, he has traveled through China, Australia,
Japan, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, as well as Latin
American countries like Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina, which has
allowed him to deepen his understanding of different cultures and
artistic expressions. In 2024, he completed an artistic residency in
Brazil, culminating in an individual exhibition about digital
imprisonment and social pressure caused by mobile devices and social
media.
In summary, Vidaña combines his artistic vocation with a social
commitment and a constant cultural exploration, reflecting a critical
and global perspective in his work.
