"Ex-Nihilo" is a project that I initiated a few years ago and which took its essence in the heart of Nature.
It comes from the phrase "Ex-Nihilo nihil fit" which means "Nothing comes from nothing". It concerns all my projects, realized or to come.
The essence of my imagination is around us and in us, the structure is an integral part of the universe, it is not always visible, yet always present, material or immaterial, just like our body, our thoughts and our life.
That is why it was obvious to me to put forward the structure in my creations and not to hide it. It became my mode of expression, my signature.
My first project was to become aware of the shapes of the human body, its structure and to rework them as an architectural body.
The structure would then form an exoskeleton and adorn an inert body protecting it while enclosing it aesthetically in the societal code.
As a result,I needed to find a light, airy and fragile material that could break at any moment and subtly evoke the ephemeral aspect of life and the human body. Spaghetti was for me an evidence, it gathered all these criteria while being a perishable material.
