This project is trying to review the role that the notion of "feminism" actually plays in Chinese females' current life. In the context of gender in China, those hard-won rights of women have actually become their burden instead of wings that can liberate them as it aimed to, especially for young ladies. Under the double pressure from social and domestic responsibilities, their each and every action has been constrained by both self-request and others. In this circumstance, I chose dessert which has got a strong symbolic meaning of wonderful life, sex and desire, as the main subject in this project, representing a true but unperceived desire of women from deep inside their hearts. The ceramic cakes are wrapped over with fabric texture which is another typical domestic object that ties closely with female identity. The dislocated form and texture work together to create a utopian, romantic dining environment in this project, aiming to arouse viewers' thinking on female identities and also question the motives and means of promoting feminism in contemporary society.
