Material: River wood.
Crimean Atman. Biorhythm 1.
Biogeometrism. The combination and manifestation by the imagination of structures hidden in nature, movement, rhythms assembled from pieces of an old tree that preserve their naturalness and originality as much as possible. The cry of a dying nature, its bones, the power of transformation.
This work was created in 2017, in the year of ecology in the mountainous region of Crimea, in the Belbek valley. For its manufacture, dozens of kellometers had to go through mountain rivers with bags. After a long life in the city, learn to feel the nature, delve into the possibilities of the material. Become a new living person. Experience catharsis. To bring pieces of wood to a house in a village in a valley, where there is water in the wells, and the houses are heated with five stoves. This panel was born there.
They write about work.
Now in the art residence an exposition is presented, within which you can see the panel "Crimean Atman. Belbek Spirit", by the artist and sculptor Ilya Skuratov.
Belbek Valley, in the Crimea. The rivers, cliffs, and stone banks forming the material were trimmed and made smooth.
7-8 types of wood were selected and rethought by the author, forming an intricate stream relief.
Atman is the manifested spirit of the place. The creation process was associated with a sense of valley energy and an understanding of pristine nature. This is the theme of death, revealing to us the bestial wild image.
Ilya worked on the panel in the year of ecology. An important task was to show the "cry" of nature, addressed to man. He creates for us the geometry of living materials, the magic of ordered chaos
We invite you to Guslitsa to see everything with your own eyes, feel the incredible power and energy, get acquainted with other wonderful works of Ilya Skuratov, and maybe with him yourself.
