I visited Ishigaki Island in April. As a tourist, I got on a glass boat and looked into the sea. I can't help paying more attention to dead coral rather than beautiful coral. I stayed near Shiraho Beach, which is famous for its blue coral. I took a walk on the beach, but it was not a sandy beach, but a beach covered with dead coral. It looked like scattered white bones to me. Could those corals, the cradles and habitats of many marine animals, have enjoyed their span of life, or have they died out due to global warming? I brought back some coral and gave them a small funeral with flowers made of silk organza in a small coffin.
