For some years now my work has been about stitching and marks and words. I stitch protests on to large banners and also on to pretty vintage embroidered household items. The gentle embroidered domesticity contrasting with the anger and rage of the often unevenly stitched words; “my fury is expressed ... in the stabbing stitches”. I studied cabinet making in Bristol, fine art in Taunton and Exeter and did an MA in Kingston Upon Thames. I live in Kingston with a Spanish greyhound, and two Welsh cats, and I recycle: all the textiles I use are secondhand, vintage, antique or found.
