The main material of the sculpture, which is called the Burnout Glasses, is chewing gum. The gum has gained a sculptural
structure with the hand shaping technique.
Gum material, which is an inexhaustible or inexhaustible object of the capital system we live in, is a system error within this
system itself. It is swallowed or expelled only at the request of the person, but continues to resist with its presence.
This passive resistance of the gum against the system wants to create a new reality for my life in Turkey, where power structures dominate.
It deals with power structures where my depleted self is depleted. Against these power structures, the resistance of a new reality
is desired with the glasses of burnout.
It is a whole project, both as a sculpture and as a photographic series. The Burnout Glasses are sculptures, selfies taken in front
of power structures are photographs.
