This work is my version of the Tower of Babel. The work consists of a frame with pieces of marble incorporated into it. The frame is constructed in such a way that the sides come together in the air. This arrangement transforms the frame into a structure and enhances the perspective. Even though the frame ends, we see the lines continue, high into the sky. In and around the frame, pieces of marble hang or lie. They wait to be included, to be processed. Or they hang like a towel over the railing, perhaps to dry. At the very bottom lies a golden blanket, a survival blanket. On the blanket, next to a rectangular piece of marble, there is a pile of crushed marble. A sign of decay perhaps, a harbinger of impending doom?
