On the occasion of the 111th anniversary of the iconic flight of Louis Blériot on July 25, 1909 over the English Channel aboard his XI monoplane, connecting France and England by air, it was decided to manufacture a life-size replica, using materials and period construction techniques, in order to be located in the main hall of the Condor Building (Argentine Air Force).
Characteristic
-Chauviére replica propeller Integrale scimitar model, laminated. Cedar wood. 2.20m.
-Anzani replica engine, three W cylinders, Fan Type 25HP. Wooden block, steel cylinders.
-Wing braced with steel cables from the dorsal pyramidal cap.
-Wing profile Eiffel 13a. Pine stringers, multi-laminate pine ribs. Guatambú stringers. Rib-spar joints, with glued longitudinal locks.
-Fuselage made up of Guatambú wood. Glued and mechanical joints using "U" bolts. Steel turnbuckles, and diagonal wire reinforcements with copper bushings.
-Functional roll and elevator command (Tip elevator), from the steering wheel, through steel cables, towards the ventral pyramidal cabane, and wire steel cables towards the control surfaces.
-Functional yaw control, from the pedals, by means of a multiwire steel cable, towards the rudder.
-Pivoting horizontal stabilizer, adjustable incidence angle, supported by steel props.
-Aged, rubberized, multi-weave polyester mechanical fabric coverings. Imitating the original Belgian linen.
-Pivoting tail skid, bronze-coated toe, spring-loaded shock absorber.
-Electric motor, battery, and power control in cabin.
-Articulated landing gear, mounted on pivoting trailing arms. Elastic shock absorbers.
-Copper fuel tanks.
-Wicker Standard A.G.S 264 style seat.
