“Indefinite infinity”
Originally conceived to represent ‘something’ which transforms a human dwelling into a home, the artwork metaphorically represents one of the mirrors through which humanity reflects on the fragility and transience of its own equilibrium.
The artwork does not identify a physical space; it merely seeks to make one of the infinite personal ‘balances’ visible and tangible. Through three different modules, it is possible to compose one’s own sense of balance, giving rise to a core - an intimate way of feeling ‘warmth’ that is also expressed by the material itself, the warm, solid olive wood that evokes olfactory sensations and the scent of the sun.
The assembled modules appear to be in a state of equilibrium, but they can be quickly dismantled to create ‘endless’ variations, each illustrating the myriad and ever-changing possibilities that can arise in different moments.
A different form for each of us, a visual and physical balance that captures an indefinable idea without boundaries, with open contours that are always open to inclusion and connection: the basic ingredients for the ‘recipe’ of human existence.
In àpeiron, the rule – that strict one which allows the modules to be joined together using the interlocking technique – is necessary solely to make the composition of the form variable, to represent a concept free from any rule, to make something intangible visible and tangible, all in order to identify balance with that choreography which allows us to live in harmony between reason and passion, body and soul.
