Motivated by the idea that an installation, in a closed place, can transport you right out of the exhibition room. This transportation occurs in a sensory way, messing with your immediate reaction based on what you see, what you smell, and what your brain does with the stimulation that the work offers. The work it self is formed by a number of concrete block with metal pieces that resemble chimneys and sit on the floor. For now we are idealizing 6 chimneys but this may vary depending on the size of the space on which we are presenting. These objects will be distributed vaguely, giving an open space feeling, with the objects lining up a kind of route (not restrictive in any way) in which the observer roams and wonders, surrounded by the mystic of the piece. Inside the “chimneys” there will be some kind of burning wood/ashes, like in a fire place, but in a much smaller size, releasing a smoky smell through the whole room, being here the triggering point that aims to mess with the visitants head, since this smell brings different relations to different people. Each block will have a different smell, since in every one of them there will be a different burning material. It is in this universe of variable interpretations and emotions that our work resides and grows. As you walk your perception changes, the smell changes and so do the memories associated with it, almost as walk trough your own head, triggered by the smells that surround you.
