Black Gold embodies the marriage between history and the ability to transcend ideas, patterns, and relationships. Dark brown skin serves as a recognition of beauty, faith, the power to create one’s self-image, and heritage.  The sacred link of my African ancestors has been entrenched in me since the earliest time I can recall, and rediscovering the delicate scars and the bold dignity of Blackness leaves more than a legacy behind. It connects an integral part of self-realization that I am more than just the color of my skin.
