I regard the traces on the wall as the manifestation of "Being" itself, not something the artist has "placed" there. My concern is no longer the ever-"withdrawing," inexhaustible core of the thing, but rather the dimension that things "open up" to us once the human will to technological mastery recedes. This shift is crucial: it turns my pursuit away from an unknowable obscurity, and toward a clearing of luminosity attainable through "contemplation."
True understanding does not necessarily come from analysis, but occurs in the instantaneous synesthesia between body and space — in genuine encounter, letting meaning generate itself spontaneously within perception.
