*Presenza/Assenza* (Presence/Absence) explores the effect produced by a human trace within a setting dominated by nature.
The mark on the ground indicates a passage; it bears witness to human intervention in the ecosystem. It represents, simultaneously, a past moment (absence) and a potential moment (presence) that might recur.
A tension arises from this accumulation of potential: the photograph is alive, creating an expectation of what might happen and echoing events that have already occurred.
The allure of the photograph lies in this: allowing one to imagine past and future events, and bringing them to life within a single image.
The project was created in March 2026 in the *Magredi* (gravelly plains) of the Cellina River in Friuli Venezia Giulia—an unspoiled landscape where even the most insignificant traces of human presence take on great significance, becoming narrative objects and witnesses to realities both lived and yet to come.
