Percorso Pubblico was the winner of the first edition of Gemellarte Festival 2019, and produced during its residency at the Galerie Marion in St Ouen, in the Parisian Banlieu.
The work is based on social engagement, performance and public art and was focused on the Île-des-Vannes, a sports centre complex with brutalist-style architecture. The site is currently in serious degradation despite hosting some talented and internationally recognized sports teams. During the residency, I engaged few members from one of these teams in a multidisciplinary work. The live action was also followed by a series of drypoint.
The aim of the project was to connect emotionally this forgotten area of Île-Saint-Denis with the near city center. They represents two sides of the same place: a pre-gentrified and the gentrified center and its residential areas of the banlieu - in which also the Galerie Mariton resides.
