I'm a
teacher. In September 2020, entering the classroom, I found my students with
face masks, split up in single desks, prisoners of the health emergency. In
each class, I took an instant photograph, wrote them a message of hope, and
gave them the photograph. Before donating it, I placed it on the desk and I
photographed it. After less than a month the boys were no longer at school,
again stopped by Covid-19. The original photographs are still hanging in the
empty classrooms and now I have only the photographs of the photographs... The
work is deliberately not a collage but is made up of 24 Latex prints on independent
panels (11 cm x 8,5 cm each: as big as the real instant photo) that can be
displayed in random order or according to a specific rule but maintaining a
certain distance between them: social distancing must be also between the
photos that compose the whole work.
